Due to overwhelming popular demand, The Wall returns to North America in 2012 kicking off this weekend, April 27 and 28th, at the Foro Sol stadium in Mexico for a historic run of 41 performances at stadiums and arenas.  The U.S. and Canadian leg begins on May 1st at the Toyota Center in Houston, TX with dates through July 14th at the Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, PA, including 2 nights at New York’s prestigious Yankee Stadium and 1 once-in-a-lifetime night at the world-famous Los Angeles Coliseum, for a total of 9 stadium shows.   Tickets are available now at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com.

Mystery Jets "Radlands"

Mystery Jets - Radlands

Street Date, June 5th, 2012, Rough Trade

Mystery Jets are Blaine Harrison, Will Rees, Kai Fish and Kapil Trivedi. On the making of the album Radlands, Blaine explains:

We've always wanted to make a record in America and after touring Serotonin the time felt perfect to go and do it. Our first three albums were entirely conceived and recorded in London so going out to Austin felt like the furthest place from everything we knew.  We arrived with a handful of songs, but one in particular felt like it captured the spirit of why we had come there. It was called Radlands (a fusion of the 1970s Terrence Malick film Badlands and Redlands, Keith Richard's Sussex estate), which is also what we named our studio; a big old wooden house on the banks of the Colorado river.

All we brought on the plane were the guitars on our backs, so we ended up borrowing all this amazing valve gear from an old guy called jack who ran a little studio up in the hills-which is why the songs sound the way they do. In the daytime we wrote lyrics on the porch and in the evenings a family of Deer would gather in the back yard to hear us play. Some nights we drove into town to drink and bring people back to play on the songs.

When we arrived home, it was hard to believe any of it even happened. It somehow all felt like a strange dream. But when Dan Carey heard it and invited us down to his studio we listened back to everything and it was all there, it was real. All we were missing were some gospel singers, which he found in the Streatham community ladies choir...

Twelve months on, and we are gearing up to take Radlands on the road. Its been a long time and we cannot wait to see you all again.

The limited edition double vinyl format of Radlands (500 copies only) will include a 32+ page illustrated comic called Radlands - The Ballad of Emmerson Lonestar and features covers by Eisner Award-winning British comic artist Glenn Fabry, famous for his work on Preacher and The Authority. Richard Elms co-wrote the comic with Mystery Jets and this is his first published comic.

S. Carey "Hoyas" EP

S. Carey's Hoyas EP Now Streaming at Stereogum.com
Hoyas, the follow-up EP to S. Carey's debut, All We Grow, is now streaming for free at Stereogum.com! Hoyas will be available in stores on May 8th, but can be pre-ordered at iTunes here. Pre-orders at SC Distribution will receive an instant digital download of the entire EP.
Hoyas by S. Carey is a hospitable statement about love, longing and the celebration of knowing it well. You will find the familiar S. Carey modern classical repetition pushed into the vernacular of electronic music and beat-making. This is the warmest electronic music you'll ever meet. The beats swing, stutter and pulse while each instrument retains a heightened awareness of its form and function within the larger family of voices.
Each Hoyas song has its own personality, each part inseparable from the body, and while the results might be surprising to some, they shouldn't be.
Hoyas started as a collaboration with a friend, Ben Lester, best known for his drumming and pedal steel work with A.A. Bondy. Carey and Lester began bouncing ideas back and forth a little over two years ago. They gradually came to four songs that had a life together. Recorded mostly in his attic studio with Lester, using a single laptop and not much else, Hoyas' songs exemplify home recording’s possibilities. Some sounds were composed by handcrafted instruments and others by junk. At times, Carey tracked vocals using nothing more than his laptop's internal microphone, and most of the beats and synthesized sounds were sequenced and arranged using stock-software. The EP was then mixed and produced by the Grammy-award-winning team of Justin Vernon and Brian Joseph of Bon Iver, and mastered by Jeff Lipton at Peerless Studios in Boston.

Praise for S. Carey's Hoyas
A feast of electronic ripples, stately horns, burbling guitar, and gorgeous falsetto – his own.
S. Carey is a maturing songwriter in his own right.
Carey’s percussion talent is the pulse of his project, and with the addition of horns and strings Hoyas has irks of chamber pop but leans more to the ambient and atmospheric rock featured on Bon Iver’s last album.

Meiko "Leave The LIghts On" The Crystal Method remix

Meiko's New Album THE BRIGHT SIDE Out May 15
on Fantasy Records / Concord Music Group
LOS ANGELES, CA - April 30, 2012 -- RCRDLBL.com, who today hosts the exclusive premiere of The Crystal Method's remix of Meiko's "Leave The Lights On," calls Meiko "an indie heavyweight whose spare, oceanic folk dreams have revived us from many a breakup. In this freshly-pressed remix of "Leave The Lights On," [Meiko's] coquettish voice still manages to pierce every ventricle, even through an unyielding party wall of The Crystal Method's twilight synths, crunchy bass and poppy club ribbons."

Meiko was featured on The Crystal Method's 2009 release DIVIDED BY NIGHT, which earned the duo a GRAMMY nomination and peaked at #38 on the Billboard 200 and #2 on the Top Electronic Albums charts.  On the collaboration with Meiko The Crystal Method said, "We first met Meiko at a showcase event in Los Angeles. We saw her playing with an acoustic guitar and instantly fell in love with her voice and sound and songwriting. We asked her that night if she wanted to work together, and she said yes. That led to us doing the track "Falling Hard" which appears on our DIVIDED BY NIGHT album, and when we were recently approached to remix this track, we were thrilled. We hope to work with her more in the future."

Download The Crystal Method remix of "Leave The Lights On" HERE.

Meiko's new album THE BRIGHT SIDE is out on May 15 on Fantasy Records/Concord Music Group.  The single "Leave The Lights On" is available now at iTunes.

Wavves "Weed Demon"

"It's like Paper Boy but you deliver drugs and you feed a monster meth at the end. I've been recording. Having fun with this kind of stuff on the side. Thanks to Mishka, Vice, and everyone helping me do random shit like this. Hope we can turn weed demon into an app someday."
- Nathan of Wavves

During a short break in their busy touring and recording schedule, Wavves teamed up with homies Vice and Mishka to create a demented game that resembles something like Paper Boy only if the paper boy drank too much of the acid punch. Deliver drugs and avoid the Mishka-designed monsters as either Nathan or Stephen just don't smoke all the stash, man. Jam out to the Anamanaguchi cover of "So Bored" while playing the game here but remember don't bogart that joint!

My Morning Jacket Announce August Tour Dates

With Very Special Guests Band of Horses
Shabazz Palaces Opens in Brooklyn

We are delighted to be sharing the stage with pals in Band Of Horses. We danced a beautiful dance together at Madison Square Garden and there is a lot of love between our camps. It's gonna be a good old-tyme thrill ride!" - Jim James

Shortly after completing their back to back tours in Japan and Australia, My Morning Jacket are taking their celebrated, exhilarating live show back on the road this August with the announcement of their North American tour, with Band Of Horses in support.

Since their sold out Madison Square show to end off 2011, they've played a triumphant performance at the Independent Spirit Awards in February and shared the stage with Preservation Hall Jazz Band commemorating their 50th Anniversary at Carnegie Hall. Jim James also completed a tour with New Multitudes (Jay Farrar, Will Johnson and Anders Parker) in promotion of their album honoring Woody Guthrie. Additionally, the band has been busy curating the Forecastle Festival for the festival's 10th Anniversary, where they will conjointly be headlining the event along with Wilco and Bassnectar.

The band are showing no signs of slowing down in the months surrounding their tour. My Morning Jacket will be contributing to John Fogerty's new album, Wrote a Song for Everyone, which will be released this fall. In the month of June, they will complete a European tour making stops in Spain, The Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Belgium and the United Kingdom. The band will also be headlining this year's Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, Tennessee and Newport, Rhode Island's Newport Folk Festival, as well as performing at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival next month.

Commencing their tour in Denver, Colorado at Red Rocks on August 3rd and 4th, My Morning Jacket will be recording both performances and offering them as complimentary downloads to all ticket holders for those shows. Both My Morning Jacket and Band Of Horses are enthusiastic of hitting the road for the month long tour. "YES! We're touring with the incredible My Morning Jacket!” says lead singer Ben Bridwell. “So psyched to hit the road with our buddies and (hopefully) warm you all up for the greatest band going."

Rock of Ages OST

Features Hits of Iconic Rockers Def Leppard, Journey, Bon Jovi, Poison and Others
Performed By Rock of Ages Cast Members Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti,
Catherine Zeta-Jones, Mary J Blige, Alec Baldwin, Tom Cruise, and More

LOS ANGELES, CA, APRIL 30, 2012 - WaterTower Music has announced the release of the soundtrack album for the highly anticipated upcoming movie musical Rock of Ages on June 5, 2012. The ROCK OF AGES: ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK boasts 20 rousing anthems that defined a generation-reinvigorated for the film by a stellar cast including Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Malin Akerman, Mary J. Blige, Alec Baldwin and Tom Cruise.

Directed by Adam Shankman (Hairspray), New Line Cinema's Rock of Ages is the film adaptation of the smash hit, five-time Tony® nominated Broadway musical which tells the story of small town girl Sherrie and city boy Drew, who meet on the Sunset Strip while pursuing their Hollywood dreams. Executive Music Producer Adam Anders (Glee) helps tell the rock 'n' roll romance through cast versions of heart-pounding hits of Def Leppard, Poison, Journey, Twisted Sister, Bon Jovi, Joan Jett, Foreigner, Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Whitesnake, and more.

"Taking classic, beloved rock anthems and seeing them through the unique perspective of the characters in the film was such an exciting prospect for me in directing Rock of Ages," said filmmaker Adam Shankman. "We had a phenomenal cast who performed these songs in such a powerful way-adding depth and meaningful imagery to the film. I was lucky to have a partner in Adam Anders who, better than anyone working today, understands how to take popular songs and seamlessly repurpose them to tell a story with unparalleled originality and success."

"It's an enormous thrill to introduce the soundtrack of Rock of Ages to the world," said Executive Music Producer Adam Anders. "While re-imagining these songs for the film, it was important for me to present them in a way that would not only tell the story, but transcend generations by making these songs relevant for today's audience. This soundtrack truly captures the incredible performances of a very talented cast who brilliantly reinterpreted these songs with us in the spirit of the film. I am really proud of this soundtrack as it is definitely one of the highlights of my career."

As the larger-than-life, arena-rocking champ "Stacee Jaxx," the Rock of Ages Soundtrack features Tom Cruise belting out Bon Jovi's classic "Wanted Dead or Alive," Def Leppard's hit "Pour Some Sugar On Me," and Guns 'N Roses anthem "Paradise City." Cruise also duets with Malin Akerman on Foreigner's power ballad, "I Want To Know What Love Is," and shares the mic with Julianne Hough on The Scorpions' "Rock You Like A Hurricane."

The album also features an extraordinary medley of Night Ranger's "Sister Christian," David Lee Roth's "Just Like Paradise," and Poison's "Nothin' But A Good Time," which features Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Russell Brand and Alec Baldwin.

Also echoing through the soundtrack are mash-ups of songs that ruled the airwaves in the `80s, including Foreigner's "Juke Box Hero" / Joan Jett's "I Love Rock N Roll"; Extreme's "More Than Words" / Warrant's "Heaven"; Pat Benatar's "Shadows Of The Night" / Quarterflash's "Harden My Heart"; and Starship's "We Built This City" woven into Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It," all performed by the film's cast.

Here We Go Magic "How Do I Know"

Here We Go Magic Release New Video,Sean Pecknold-directed "How Do I Know"
Full Album Now Available for Streaming at AOL Spinner
"First god created human, then human created technology, then human created technology to look like human." - Sean Pecknold
Here We Go Magic have released a new video for their lead single "How Do I Know" at SPIN.com today. Directed by Sean Pecknold (Fleet Foxes, Beach House, Grizzly Bear) the video stars Janet Pants as a happy-go-lucky dancing robot who is being returned to the factory by her owner. Pecknold explains, "It takes place in the not-so-distant future where you will be able to custom order human like robots for your pleasure, and although some people will probably still be partial to the human flesh, I think some conflicts of emotion will arise. Humans, love, sex, technology, dancing, the future!"
Pecknold was introduced to the band by his brother Robin via traditional method - a road trip. "I was driving from Joshua Tree to Palm Springs on the highway, and my brother who was privy to the new Here We Go Magic record, said 'You have to hear this song.' So he put it on and we listened to it a couple times all 5 of us smiling with the wind in our hair. Then literally as we pulled into the parking lot in Palm Springs I got a message from the band about maybe doing a video for that very song."
He says of his vision for the track, "I wanted to return to the strangeness and warmth of the Palm Springs area to shoot a little story about a man torn between two choices in his life. When listening to the jam I kept seeing a human-like robot dancing on the side of the highway, so I incorporated that into a light-hearted, literal take on the question posed in the song."
"How Do I Know" is the molten core at the center of A Different Ship, the sunny and spacious album that the band recorded with Nigel Godrich. A stream of the album is available today, a full week in advance of release at AOL Spinner.

The album is also available for pre-order now with an instant digital download here and will be out May 8 on Secretly Canadian. HWGM will also be touring the US later in May with indie-pop outfit Hospitality. The shows include stops at Sasquatch, London's Field Day, Evolution and Bonnaroo festivals. A full list with details is below.
"...in the heady pulse of standouts like 'How Do I Know' or 'Hard to Be Close,' you can get a much clearer understanding for why a Here We Go Magic live experience was and is potent enough to send guys like Yorke and Godrich into early morning spasms. Their many gifts are on full display here, in their finest light." - SPIN
"...a beautiful, expansive step forward...what will surely be one of 2012’s loveliest records." - STEREOGUM
"...makes you want to jump out and start dancing." - FILTER

THEESatisfaction announce west coast tour

THEESatisfaction schedule west coast headline tour in support of awE naturalE
Watch dream hampton directed video for “QueenS” at YouTube

Hot on the heels of their wildly received European tour, THEESatisfaction are pleased to announce their US summer tour schedule.  The duo have a handful of dates in May, which includes May 12 in Atlanta, GA at The Earl, May 19 in Orlando, FL at The Social, and May 26 at Sasquatch Music Festival.  Then on June 18 in San Diego, CA at the Casbah, the THEESatisfaction will kick-off a headline west coast tour that ends on June 23 in Sacramento, CA at Luigi’s Fun Garden.  Additionally, the band have a few festival dates to mention: July 21 in Denver, CO for The Underground Music Festival (with label mates Shabazz Palaces), August 4-5 in Happy Valley, OR at Pickathon and August 26 in St. Louis, MO at LOUFest.  More tour dates will be announced shortly. Current tour schedule below.

THEESatisfaction also premiered their latest video for awE naturalE’s lead single, “QueenS” via YouTube. The clip, directed by the legendary rap critic and Jay Z biographer dream hampton, has amassed over 95k views since its debut on April 18. Check here to watch. In related news, THEEsatisfaction’s awE naturalE is currently the #1 record on CMJ’s hip-hop chart for 3 weeks running.

What People Are Saying About THEESatisfaction:
“Director dream hampton isn’t typically a filmmaker. Most of the time, she’s one of the greatest rap critics of all time, the woman who helped Jay-Z put Decoded together. And maybe her innate, decades-deep understanding of rap and feminism and rap feminism made her uniquely qualified to put together the dreamy all-female house-party utopia we see in this clip. It’s a beautiful thing.” – [Top 5 Videos of the Week] Stereogum

"At a time when politically conscious rap is viewed with skepticism, that sort of territory becomes tricky to navigate, but Irons and Harris-White pull it off. They come over as ultra-positive Queens of the Stoned Age who prioritize uninhibited genre exploration and good vibe-seeking above all." – Pitchfork

“With their soulful take on contemporary R&B, Seattle-based THEESatisfaction proves that women rappers have strengths all their own.” [Album Review] - BUST

“THEESatisfaction's Stas and Cat are cojoined, beat-made MCs, producers, partners, and lovers with nothing in this world or the next to hide. Their collective brain lobes contain hiphop acumen and insight. When their voices harmonize, it sounds like a human Moog synth rendition of keys Stevie himself would have played. Rangewise, Stas and Cat graze tonally into Ella Fitzgerald and Tina Turner. On the beat, rapped side of the equation, the Seattle duo spreads into Quasimoto's refined and raw oddness.” [Feature]The Stranger

“THEESatisfaction’s Catherine Harris-White and Stasia Irons sing-rap with confidence over a breezy vocal loop. It’s a soulful, bouncy, promising glimpse of what’s to come.”[Track Review]The FADER

Squarepusher: new short film

(both are available to post and share)

Warp is excited to announce the premiere of a short film by The Creators Project.  The film includes an exclusive interview with Squarepusher and live footage from his highly acclaimed appearance at the Creators Project: San Francisco event in March. You can also listen to the complete studio version of “Drax 2” taken from the new album Ufabulum released May 15.

Squarepusher explains about new track “Drax 2”:

"As a boy I had a Ladybird book about power stations that I used to re-read every day. I'm obsessed with electrical energy and especially in the vast quantities generated by power stations. The sound of the massive electric motor from a fairground Ferris Wheel has always stayed humming in my head and lots of my synth sounds refer to it, as they do in this piece. From there I tried to generate images of bizarre transitory phenomena that I imagined could be found in the huge furnaces of power stations."

The release of this film follows the “Dark Steering” song and video – watch here http://bit.ly/JnNv78.  Due to the incredible response, we have made the song available to buy now as a single track download on all good digital services.  You can also purchase the video in high quality on iTunes here:http://itunes.apple.com/music-video/dark-steering/id518668294

Ufabulum is released on phosphorescent Special Edition Vinyl and Special Edition CD (both include 3 track Enstrobia EP on CD), Phosphorescent T-Shirt with album download, Regular CD and Download formats.

Preorder is available at Bleep - videos and images here:

DZ Deathrays "Dollar Chills"

DZ Deathrays
Destruction, flares, florescent light bulb fights, chrome skull masks, boredom, and rebellion are some of the themes present in DZ Deathrays' newest music video for "Dollar Chills". Foo Fighters, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, F*ucked Up, and Dananananaykroyd are some of the bands DZ Deathrays has recently toured with.  Sold yet?

Stream, Download, Grab, Share "No Sleep" via SoundCloud:

The Brisbane, Australia-based two piece is back with the international release of the band's debut full length, Bloodstreams.  To be released May 8 via 3|4 in the US, Bloodstreams delivers what fans have come to expect from the band: raw energy packed into melodies and guitar riffs that will catch your attention at first, and will be difficult to stop thinking out.
"We hear that their shows are so loud you may actually sh*t your panties and not even know that it happened until your friends are like, 'dude, you smell like poopy.'" - VICE
"a raucous, energized collection of heavy punk rock numbers" - RCRD LBL
"Full of dirty basslines and skronky guitars, this is like Pulled Apart By Horses covering Does It Offend You, Yeah? or the cast of Skins vomiting on your brain.  In a good way."
